These are original and printed cartoons drawn by Shelby County, Kentucky native, Neal O. Hammon aboard the USS HELENA during his service in the Korean War. Materials relate to shipboard activities and other aspects of navy life. Hammon worked as staff artist on the ship's newspaper, THE LOOKOUT. Several copies of the paper are also present.
